About my 1500 Series
I purchased this truck when i was 16 and it was my daily driver all through high school. After graduation I parked the truck at my dads farm and it has sat there until now (20+ years). My dad and I set out to totally redue this truck and make it show worthy. The past two years have been spent on this truck and its comming together real nice.
To start off we purchased a Serious Hardware rolling chassis with Mustang II front suspension power rack and 13' discs. A Currie built Ford 9" rearend with 3.70 gears. We had the frame gloss black powder coated and a set of Eagle rims with Goodyear Eagles around them.
The engine is out of a 1965 SS Impala 283 ci bored 30 over with flat tops, Competition Cam 480 lift 268 dur. and roller rockers, 305 small chamber heads, jet hot coated block hugger headers, Mallory HEI, Edelbrock 750 CFM carb. on top of a air gap polished intake. The front of the engine has a March Engineering serpintene system with 110 amp polished alt., reverse rotation Edelbrock polished water pump, polished corvette remote power steering pump and a polished A/C compressor. Cooling it all is done by a Walker four core radiator and puller elect. fan. Transmission is a Hughs built 700R4 (non computer controlled) with shift kit, 13 vane pump, kevlar clutches, corvette servo and a 2500 stall converter. All metal work was done by Rich Swanson and Robert Welch, which includes a new Bitchin products firewall, floor pan. Hagan fuel door, frenched headlights front and rear park light cans. Door latches are from a Jaguar. Paint was done by Mike Silvernale of Prescott, in a BASF Indigo Blue Metalic (base coat, clear coat system). Other features are a Ididit polished column, Lockar cables, shaved doors, electric actuated aluminum tonto cover, 7" DVD stereo system with 5.1 surround sound and 12in subs. Vintage Air A/C heat unit. Ron Francis Express wiring system and third brake light.
More pictures will follow as the project progresses. All that is left to do now is complete the wiring and the interior. Hope we can make it for its first show in June in Yuma.
