About my Truck

1953 Chevy pickup that belonged to my grandpa.  I have always wanted to build a Kustom and figured that this would be a good start.  The truck is a true daily driver, thus it is NOT finished. It has had many transformations over the years and I also use it to pickup and deliver furniture for my business, Moffet Kustom Interiors.
The mods are:
73 pinto front suspension with s-10 rotors and calipers, rack and pinion steering, 88 Firebird disk brake limited slip rear end, all just recently converted to air ride.  3" choptop, 305/turbo 350 combo, one piece door glass, custom built side pipes, frenched headlights, frenched antennae, frenched taillights, frenched gas filler, frenched led third brake light, shaved everything, every panel has had some kind of kustom work done to it. Kustom interior, EZ wiring harness, dolphin gauges, 88 Monte Carlo bench seat widend 8" to fit cab.
It is a constant work in progress.  Future additions are custom running boards and a pancaked hood.

Thanks for the post and comments. The truck actually was bought used by my great uncle in the 1960's.  My grandpa bought the truck from uncle's widow when he passed away. He wanted it for parts to use on his '52 GMC.  He gave it to me to build after assuring him I wouldn't resell it, but build it.  It was featured in "Garage Scenes" in CCT in the early 90's. Being a full kustom the truck will prob never be finished.  Thanks again for a great mag and pass that comp on to the editors for me also.

The customized part is always cool, but I always enjoy hearing that a truck has been in the family for a long time. Old trucks are like dogs that never die, they can out-live everyone in the family if they are hung onto. Didn't mean to get off on a tangent, but did your Grandpa buy the '53 new, and if so from which Chevy dealer in which state?
